Service provider Unisson Disability has organised a series of excursions for NDIS participants to Vivid Sydney, festival of lights.

There are three packaged experiences including a dinner cruise, Royal Botanic Gardens Lightscape, and a light installation walk-through. Accommodation for out-of-town clients will be available at Unisson’s short-term accommodation cottage at Hornsby. All attendees will be accompanied by Unissson support staff throughout the evenings.

Unisson community services general manager Ben Droll said the packages are an opportunity for NDIS participants to be independent and feel confident participating in larger-scale community events. NDIS participants can expect to see “the biggest and most culturally relevant program of the year,” he said.

All Unisson packages, priced from $30, are wheelchair accessible, and include return travel from Unisson Community Access hubs, facilitated by a team of Unisson support staff.

Clients using the STA component will need to have funds in the Assistance with Daily Life Category (01). Clients attending any of the activities will require funds from the Assistance with Social Economic and Community Participation Category (04) which are core supports within NDIS plans.

Vivid runs from May 30 to June 13.
