Kokoda-web-banner4Here’s a worthwhile challenge to help raise funds for young people with 24/7 care needs. The Youngcare Kokoda Trek 2014 is a 10-day adventure opportunity that puts physical and mental capacities to the test. All money raised goes towards providing care and housing options for around 7000 young people with high care needs living in aged care facilities.

The trek is not for the faint hearted – the 96 kilometre track in Papua New Guinea stretches through some of the wildest jungle in the world and follows the historic route that Australian soldiers took during World War 11. Battle sites are still in evidence on the track along with other relics of the war.  An intensive 8-week supervised training course begins in mid-May and the trek takes place August 15-25.
