The NDIS wants to hear from people with disability, carers and providers about their experiences to identify gaps and areas where the scheme can be improved.

An Independent Review Panel has released a paper inviting the disability community to contribute.

The review submission process is fully accessible so people with disability can participate online, on the phone, via video or in writing.

The panel will embark on an engagement process over the next 12 months that includes community consultation and collaboration with stakeholders to improve the scheme before making recommendations and committing to an action plan.

NDIS Minister Bill Shorten said the review will ensure the engagement is inclusive, with many options available for participants to have their voices heard. “People and organisations who have made prior submissions in earlier reviews should have confidence their experiences will be taken into account,” he said.
