House with No Steps plans to develop Virtual Reality-based learning tools for disability support workers. The disability services provider has been awarded $200,000 from the National Disability Services Innovative Workforce Fund to develop prototype VR tools in partnership with the Centre for Social Impact in a 12-month project.
The prototype to be developed is intended to enhance the capabilities of disability support workers with respect to risk-related scenarios in their workplace, creating new opportunities for learning through lifelike scenarios and experiences.
Virtual experiences offer the organisation a chance to practice its responses to risk-related events in a safe way, strategic innovation lead, Angela Meyer said.
