The Father Christmas image is from the STEPS Autism Treehouse Christmas Party that was held recently at the Kawana Sports Precinct on the Queensland Sunshine Coast.
The event featured water slides, rides and obstacle courses, a petting zoo with ponies, a visit from Santa Claus that took place within two fully fenced football fields.
STEPS Pathways charity CEO Anne Nioa said the Christmas party was an opportunity for children living with disability or autism to enjoy themselves freely.
“The best thing about this Christmas party is that everybody feels like they belong. It’s wonderful to see all members of the family enjoying a day out in a truly inclusive environment,” Nioa said. “For a lot of these families, this is one of the only large-scale events they can truly look forward to each year and we are so thankful to be able to provide that.”
