The Australia Council is currently reviewing all programs including Artists with Disability funding. This follows a reduced budget allocation from the Federal Government for 2015-2016. The Council has invested $333,000 for artists with disability with 89 applications received in the last grant round.
About five per cent of the projects supported through the core grants program are arts and disability programs, said Australia Council CEO, Tony Grybowski. “There is part of our commitment to supporting the cultural ambitions of artists with disability.”
Artist Emma J Hawkins who received an Artist with Disability grant for her autobiographical show, I am not a Unicorn! has also received funding to tour the production.
