Australian Retailers Association gains grant to increase retail work options for people with disability. The industry body has been successful in its application for the National Disability Employment Initiative grant program aimed at increasing employment opportunities for people with disability. The program will be delivered by the ARA Retail Institute to address the labour market disadvantage of people with disability.
ARA executive director, Russell Zimmerman, said the Retail Industry Disability Employment Broking Program is designed to maximise employment outcomes. It is hoped to achieve this by informing key stakeholders of employment opportunities available, building on government and other investment in the employment area as well as producing case studies that promote successful disability employment.
