Acclaimed inclusive theatre company Second Echo Ensemble (SEE) – as seen in Link Disability Magazine – will premiere its latest family-friendly production, The Adventures of Peacock, Chicken and the Pony They Rode Upon, at two of Australia’s most iconic venues.
The show will open at the Sydney Opera House on 29 and 30 August, before heading home to Hobart’s Theatre Royal from 26 to 30 September.
Created in collaboration with Midnight Feast, Adventures is a family-friendly theatre production which follows three unlikely friends – a peacock, a chicken, and a pony – on a whimsical journey through Nowhereville. Along the way, they explore themes of identity, purpose and friendship.
The production combines puppetry, original music, and multimedia to celebrate diversity, creativity and self-acceptance. Local artists including visual dramatist and performer Dave Montgomery, songstress and narrator Nicole Simms-Farrow, and performer Annalise Haigh will make their Sydney Opera House debuts in this production.
The cast also includes international and interstate talent such as composer and vocalist Mia Palencia and Archibald Prize-nominated visual artist Digby Webster.
The production is a milestone for SEE as the company celebrates its 20th anniversary and its bold reputation for challenging perceptions and celebrating diverse perspectives.
