Adults with disability visiting the new world class Sydney Zoo will have access to a range of wheelchairs and scooters proudly sponsored by Sunrise Medical.
The collaboration is part of Sunrise Medical’s mission to improve the lives of people with disability, supplying the zoo with its Breezy BasiX 2 wheelchairs with 10 to choose from plus two Sterling mobility scooters. Wheelchair hire is free with a $50 refundable deposit. The electric mobility scooter cost is $20 per day plus an $80 refundable deposit. The option for advanced bookings is also available.
All public areas and exhibits are wheelchair and scooter accessible and there are no stairs on the site.
Said to be Australia’s most advanced zoo, it is located in the heart of Western Sydney, exhibiting a wide range of animals in a safari-like experience, said to be more immersive and engaging than a traditional zoo.
As well as 30 exhibits and a wide variety of animal species the zoo features a show arena, picnic areas, wetlands and gardens together with restaurants, cafes, kiosks, gift shops and amenities.
