Support for people transitioning to the NDIS from EnableNSW will continue. This was the message from EnableNSW at the ATSA Sydney Expo. It was clearly a topic of interest judging by the attendance to a seminar held at the event.  Many issues were clarified by clinical advisors who spoke at the seminar with many services unchanged and available to people of all ages.  Among these were funding for respiratory equipment and consumables such as ventilators and oxygen concentrators, prosthetic limb services for people over 65, in addition to aids and equipment for those who do not meet the eligibility requirements for the NDIS.

In effect, nothing changes for those currently receiving assistance from EnableNSW who do not meet the NDIS criteria. Those who are transitioning to the NDIS with an NDIS plan in place are still eligible for EnableNSW support until the NDIS rolls out to their area.  Also, as a registered NDIS provider EnableNSW can continue to provide co-ordination of equipment supports approved in the NDIS plans. EnableNSW is currently piloting its equipment allocation program in regional NSW which keeps standard equipment in stock for providing on application.
