Dates for public hearings for the Senate Inquiry into issues for students with disability have been announced. These are being held in Sydney on Friday September 18, Melbourne on September 19 and Brisbane on September 25. The Children with Disability Australia (CDA) submission includes 219 direct experiences of students with disability. The key issues highlighted in the submission includes ongoing and persistent experiences of discrimination, limited or no funding for support or resources, inadequately trained staff, a systemic culture of low expectations, exclusion, bullying and abuse.

CDA is encouraging people to attend the public hearings as well as reading and sharing the submission which is critical to highlighting the urgent need for reform in this area.
