Participants are invited to have their say in building a better NDIS through a new Participant Engagement Panel (PEP).  The panel, comprising 28 organisations, will offer support for participants wanting to share their views about their lived experience of disability, particularly those from hard-to-reach communities.

The panel builds on the National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA) existing Participant First Engagement Initiative, intended to help the agency to inform policy development and service improvement in the future.

NDIS Minister Linda Reynolds said the panel will provide engagement services, including focus groups and one-on-one interviews with participants, their families and carers.

The government has put forward draft legislation which acknowledges that people with disability must be included through co-design.

“The draft legislation is currently out for consultation until October 7, and I want all participants voices to be heard,” the minister said.
