The new $10 banknote has been launched and includes a tactile feature to assist the vision-impaired. As well as being more secure, the new design retains images of Dame Mary Gilmore and Banjo Patterson, is the same size and uses the same colour palette as the existing $10 banknote.
Security against counterfeiting features on the new banknote that were also introduced with the new $5 banknote last year includes a top-to-bottom window with multiple interactive elements, fluorescent ink and raised printing. A new $50 banknote is expected to enter circulation in late 2018 with remaining dominations in the series introduced in subsequent years.
