Government announces a Productivity Commission review into costs associated with the NDIS. The costs are consistent with the Heads of Agreements with the states and territories and the Commonwealth. The review is intended to inform the final design of the full scheme, prior to its commencement, by focusing on updating initial cost projection estimates as well as provide advice on longer term projections and overall sustainability issues.
Public consultation is being undertaken as part of the study and the government is encouraging all interested parties to participate. The Productivity Commission is due to report to the government within eight months of receipt of the terms of reference.
