However, to ensure suitable wheelchair circulation, a 1550mm diameter turning area in front of laundry appliances is necessary.

Also, a front loading washing machine is easier for a person in a wheelchair to operate and  the washing machine can be raised from the floor for reaching when in a seated position. Laundry taps are best positioned to the side of the tub for ease of use and there should be suitable clearances underneath the tub to allow for wheelchair access.
