Independence Australia and Zest Care Australia will join forces on July 1, a change intended to better serve the interests of people living with disability as a new, unified organisation, that will operate as Independence Australia.

“We have closely aligned core purposes and values that will allow us to expand our range of support services from Victoria into New South Wales,” CEO Peter Turner told F2L. “The decision will enable us to integrate the two businesses and grow the provision of quality, safe and sustainable supports to people living with a disability or other personal need in our communities,” he said.

Independence Australia provides choices and services for people living with a disability. It is a leading suppliers of healthcare products, with more than 13,000 products available from their online store, delivered from warehouses in each state across Australia. Surplus generated from sales go back into the community to support the delivery of essential programs.

Zest Care, a person-centred organisation and NDIS provider, offers a range of services to support vulnerable children and people with disabilities. While most of Zest Care’s services operate across NSW, they also deliver services in Queensland and Victoria.

The new arrangement will see an expanded service offering to improve the quality of life for customers and create a larger, more sustainable in-home service, whilst maintaining individualised services, flexibility, choice and control for their customers.
