The Disability Leadership Institute has announced its inaugural Disability Leadership Oration, a thought-provoking 45-minute talk designed to lead into discussions on disability leadership, set a national agenda and spark conversation.

The institute is hosting the Oration with its broadcast partner, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, in Melbourne on November 21. The ABC will broadcast the Oration on International Day of People with Disability on December 3.

Centred on International Day of People with Disabilities, the Oration will become a destination and annual event for the broader disability community, business and government leaders and those interested in thought leadership and equality.

Each year a prominent disability leader will share their perspective on disability leadership, where it is going and what it looks like. Taking a broad view, they will outline the way forward and consider what needs to be done and who should be part of making progress happen.

The 2023 Disability Leadership Orator is disability rights lawyer and advocate, Natalie Wade. Based in Adelaide, she is founder, principal lawyer and director of Equality Lawyers, a disability-led, disability rights law firm, providing legal services to the disability community.

This is a free event however it is necessary to register and get a ticket.
