Disability housing provider, the Housing Hub is running free workshops for people with disability and their families as well as events about housing options for allied health professionals.
“A continuing challenge for the market is that there isn’t enough understanding of Specialist Disability Housing (SDA) and suitable housing amongst people with disabilities,” Housing Options co-ordinator, Karina Dobra told F2L. “This has led to a situation where there is a significant lack of housing support for people with disability and a lack of understanding around their housing preferences.”
Workshops include: Housing and support under the NDIS; Specialist Disability Accommodation; home ownership and Individualised Living Options; tips for searching and housing and NDIS goal writing.
Events for service providers include: Housing options under the NDIS, Support models and stories from people with disability and SDA eligibility.
The online and face to face workshops and events are free and running Australia wide in all states and territories from February to June, 2021.
