NSW will benefit from $400 million in grants to deliver frontline Local Area Coordination (LAC) Services for the NDIS.

NDIS Minister Stuart Robert said the grant round result in two organisations retaining services as well as a number of new partners  beginning delivery from July 1.

“The Partners in the Community grant rounds allow the National Disability Insurance Agency to seek out the most suitable organisations to deliver these important services for our participants to ensure they continue to have a positive experience with the scheme,” the minister said. “The grants also provide a great opportunity for organisations to work with the NDIA and grow their business.

Current LAC agreements for NSW cease on June 30. The NDIA undertook a detailed assessment and panel recommendation process, which included representatives from the NSW Government, and also considered impact of coronavirus on any transition or change to existing partners during this period.

The new NSW LAC Partners will commence transition activities immediately with full service scheduled for July 1, 2020, with the exception of agreements covering South Western Sydney and Sydney service areas which will commence on October 1, 2020.  Early Childhood Early Intervention services will not be impacted by this change.

In regions where there has been a change of partner, participants will be contacted directly by the NDIA to ensure a smooth transition.
