Carols by Candlelight – Melbourne December 24
Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight will be held at the Myer Music Bowl on December 24, and Channel 9 will broadcast the event live from 8pm AEDT with a replay on Christmas Day. Vision Australia will carry a simulcast with audio description on the VA radio network in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, regional Victoria, Albury and Darwin while 2UE 954 in Sydney, 4BH in Brisbane and Magic 1278 in Melbourne will also have a simulcast of the event.
Television presenter Allison Langdon will join David Campbell together with artists including Marina Prior, Denis Walter, David Hobson, Silvie Paladino, Rob Mills, Bobby Fox, Bonnie Anderson, Anthony Callea and Tim Campbell, with more performers to be announced later this month. For over 80 years, Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight has been supporting children who are blind or have low vision.
The Myer Music Bowl has special arrangements for patrons in wheelchairs and their companions, for people with low vision and those requiring hearing aid support. A companion cardholder can attend free if accompanying a person with disability. Wheelchairs and walking frames can be accommodated however there is a steep slope to the reserved seating area and those attending will need assistance. Wheelchair bays are located at the back of the stalls. Lawn area ticket holders can remain in their wheelchair for the duration of the show but there are limited flat viewing areas available.
