Poor work design is a key contributor to psychological injury in the Healthcare and Social Assistance (H&SA) industry.

Poor psychological health, such as burnout, stress, and anxiety not only harms employees’ well-being but also reduces organisations’ ability to function effectively and retain their carers and support workers.

So how can we design work to better support mental health and well-being in the H&SA industry?

To help address these challenges, the Design for Care Project, funded by icare NSW, has been working with eight organisations across the disability care, aged care and out-of-home care sectors to develop practical, evidence-based strategies for creating mentally healthy workplaces.

The project team will share key insights from this three-year research initiative at the Design for Care Showcase.

This complementary event is designed for leaders, people and culture professionals in the H&SA industry, offering access to valuable resources, including the Design for Care Platform, the Organisational Change Guide and more, to help improve work design and employee well-being.

It will be held at Novotel Sydney Parramatta, 350 Church St, Parramatta, NSW from 8.30am – 12.00pm on April 30, 2025.
