NDIA review request to Assistive Technology (AT) stakeholders drawing to a close. In June, National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) CEO, David Bowen, wrote to all stakeholders to inform them that it was conducting a review to improve the way the NDIA interacts with participants and providers.

ATSA executive officer David Sinclair said several conversations with AT suppliers on their experiences when providing AT to NDIS recipients has highlighted both positive outcomes and areas where improvement is required in the NDIA’s processes. “As the peak industry body, ATSA is in a key position to assist and inform the NDIA on how to make the system better,” he said. “It is timely to gather feedback on experiences over the last 12 months about supplying AT to NDIS participants.” Sinclair said the survey contains several questions designed to capture the facts and “it was important to give factual, balanced feedback to find out what works well and what doesn’t”.

All information provided will be treated as ‘Commercial in Confidence’ and only de-identified information will be shared. The final report will not contain information that could identify an individual supplier. Also if the NDIA requests specific information on an event or issue, it will only be shared with the NDIA once permission has been given. Deadline for responses is July 31, 2017.
