Following the success of its much-loved Camp MDA, Muscular Dystrophy Australia (MDA) has announced a brand-new school holiday program designed specifically for primary school-aged children living with neuromuscular disabilities.
Connecting Little Legends will run on Thursday 2 October and offer children aged 6–11 the chance to connect, play, and grow in a safe, inclusive environment.
“Camp MDA is one of the most powerful things we do to create belonging and joy for our community,” said Mary Orgill, head of programs and impact at MDA.
“Now we’re bringing that same magic to a day camp so our younger legends can experience it too.”
The one-day camp is designed to foster friendships, boost confidence, and help children feel part of a community that understands them. Activities will include morning movement and games with the School of Play team, a creative arts session with a trained art teacher, and plenty of time for rest, reflection, and fun.
“Parents often tell us they want their kids to feel confident and connected with others who ‘get it’,” Orgill said. “This day is about giving children that sense of belonging while having an unforgettable time.”
Connecting Little Legends will be held in Parkville and is open to children from across Victoria. Spaces are limited and families are encouraged to register early.
