COVID-19: The rights of children with disability podcast

A podcast on the human rights argument of behalf of children with disability is available from Dr Veronica Schiariti from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Dr Schiariti is a physician-scientist whose work bridges clinical research and international child health.


In this podcast, she speaks about her editorial: ‘The Human Rights of children with disabilities during health emergencies: the challenge of COVID-19‘, published in Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology.

For more than 10 years, she has worked with children with developmental disabilities in community and tertiary-level rehabilitation centres.

Her primary interest is promoting an abilities-oriented approach in assessments and evaluations of children and youths with neurodevelopmental disabilities, guided by the World Health Organisation (WHO) International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).
