The ATSNZ Disability expo has been rescheduled from September 2020 to March 2021. Interpoint Events managing director Simon Cooper said the decision to reschedule was based on key criteria.

“The health and safety of our community comes first. With the imminent lowering of the alert level to level 2, we believe restrictions will continue to be lowered in a measured way. However ATSNZ requires a lot of preparation to adhere to social distancing requirements, as well as sufficient time to market the event and reassure both exhibitors and visitors the event will be safe,” he told F2L.

The ATSNZ Board took the decision to reschedule to give Interpoint time to put in place a number of new protocols. These are being introduced worldwide by trade expos to ensure the build phase, and the exhibition itself, protects everyone including exhibitors, visitors and suppliers.

The new protocols include:

  • Ensuring personnel safety
  • Enabling physical distancing
  • Increasing health and safety measures
  • Encouraging and enforcing all government regulations as these relate to events

Trade events are regarded as essential business platforms for rebooting the economy, Cooper said.

ATSNZ will be held from March 16-17, 2021 at the Vodafone Events Centre, Auckland. All bookings and registrations have been transferred and already more than 60 per cent of space has been reserved. An estimated 1000 allied health professionals and consumers are expected to attend.
