Scripted assistive technology provider Astris PME is expanding into Tasmania, with the opening of two new branches in Launceston and Hobart.
The move marks the company’s first physical presence in the state, and comes amid growing demand from Tasmanian therapists and clients.
The new branches will include fully equipped showrooms, supported by mobile showroom services that will travel statewide to provide free equipment trials, and together will support equipment users and therapists across the state.
In Tasmania, Astris PME will offer:
- Free trials of scripted AT (low/mid/high-cost) with a registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist present
- Trials at showrooms, therapist clinics, or client-preferred locations
- Expert AT consultants who are trained mechanics, not therapists, working in partnership with each client’s healthcare team
- Free back-to-base servicing for life on all equipment supplied before 30 June 2026
Heading up operations in Tasmania is state manager Josh Arnott, formerly of Medifab. With over 12 years of experience supporting families across Australia, Arnott brings deep knowledge, compassion, and a strong commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for clients living with disability.
Astris PME stocks global brands Rifton, Leckey, Sunrise Medical, Jenx, Motion Composites, Magic Mobility, and Permobil, with an extensive range of manual and powered wheelchairs, power-assist devices, strollers, activity chairs, commodes, floor-sitters, gait-trainers, standing frames, and more.
Other Astris PME branches are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Newcastle, Wollongong, Canberra, Young, and Bundaberg – with Tasmania the latest addition to its growing network.
Importantly, Astris PME does not supply light rehabilitation or aged care equipment such as beds, mainstream wheelchairs, walking aids, trolleys or shower chairs. Instead, it partners with Alpha Lifecare (formerly Advanced Lifecare), a trusted provider in this space.
This collaboration lets Astris PME maintain its focus on scripted assistive technology – highly customised solutions designed for individuals with complex and long-term needs – from powered and manual wheelchairs to complex postural seating systems and 24-hour positioning solutions.
Astris PME is currently recruiting in both Hobart and Launceston, for AT sales consultants that specialise in scripted equipment, product technicians, and customer service staff.
